It’s the FINAL week of school for 2024, GCISD! Keep up the hard work, stay focused and make these last few days count. As a reminder, this Friday, December 20, is an early release day for ALL GCISD students, except for those attending iUniversity Prep.
As we head into the winter break, make sure to stay informed about upcoming holidays and important dates by checking your school’s instructional calendar: www.gcisd.net/instructional-calendars.
🎓 Exciting Opportunity for Students! 🎓
Did you know that GCISD Collegiate Academy is now accepting applications? This Early College High School (ECHS) program gives students the chance to earn their high school diploma and an associate degree simultaneously—at no cost to their families! Through our partnership with Tarrant County College Northeast, students get a valuable head start on their college education.
GCISD Collegiate Academy is proud to be a National Blue Ribbon School recognized by the U.S. Department of Education for its commitment to academic excellence. Learn more: https://ca.gcisd.net/o/ca/page/application.
Early voting begins today, Monday, October 21, and continues through Friday, November 1. Tarrant County registered voters can vote at any Vote Center location during Early Voting and on Election Day. Visit www.GCISD.net/VATRE to learn more about Proposition A: the Voter-Approved Tax Ratification Election (VATRE) and to view the early voting schedule.
📣 College Colors Day and AVID Day are both on Friday, August 30, and we invite the GCISD community to wear their favorite college gear! 📣
This annual celebration promotes college readiness and the spirit that embodies the college experience. Use #WeAreGCISD and tag GCISD to show your college pride. AVID, which stands for Advancement Via Individual Determination, is a college and career readiness system and elective course offered in all GCISD middle schools, Colleyville Heritage High School and Grapevine High School.
Say “hello” to two-way messaging and classroom announcements in the GCISD app! With the addition of Rooms, our district app keeps getting better. Parents/guardians check your email or sms with instructions to sign up and access new features.
✏️ It's time for back-to-school shopping! Before you hit the stores, take a moment to review GCISD's dress code for the 2024-2025 school year. Check out this graphic for secondary students to make sure your student is ready for another great year: https://5il.co/2pq6z.
Last year, we reviewed the GCISD Emergency Response Protocol, but did you know that if there is a situation at your child's school, there are multiple ways to ensure you receive notification? To ensure you are informed, GCISD will send you text messages (for those who opted in during enrollment), emails and mobile app notifications, and post updates on district social media pages and websites. Make sure you stay up to date with what is happening in the district by following our social media channels and downloading the GCISD app. #WeAreGCISD
