I'm Shannon Jones and I'm thrilled to be the librarian at CMS! Before coming to CMS I taught theatre for 16 years. I received my undergraduate degree in Theatre Arts from the University of Texas at Arlington and a Masters in Library and Information Science from the University of North Texas. I have twin daughters who attend Glenhope ES.

I drink too much coffee, stay up late reading and love singing in the car.

Learning Commons Hours: Monday-Friday 7:45-3:45 

Learning Commons Policies: 2022-2023 School Year

  • The CMS Learning Commons is open from 7:45-3:45 every school day. 

  • Students can come to the Learning Commons before or after school or with a pass from a teacher.

  • Students may check out 3 books at a time.

  • Books are due 2 weeks after the checkout date.

  • Books are marked as lost 40 days after the due date. At that point the student will be charged the replacement cost of the book. 

  • Students are responsible for any damage done to materials checked out to them.

  • Students may use the computers in the learning commons for school related purposes only. 

Content Warning

Some books in the Learning Commons have a yellow 'YA' sticker on the spine. That sticker indicates that those books have been recommended by reviewers for students age 13 and up. There may be some content in these books that is mature in nature. Only students 13 and up will be allowed to check out these books.
